Kristin Brown is a certified health and wellness coach who is passionate about educating and supporting people to make healthy lifestyle choices and to achieve their personal wellness goals. She is the founder of Fresh Start By the Sea, a health and wellness coaching company that is based in beautiful Wilmington, North Carolina.
Kristin found herself at a crossroads in May of 2011, when the corporate company she had been working with for 19 years closed their office. After years of enduring long hours, increased stress, and suffering from exhaustion and low energy levels, Kristin was ready for a complete lifestyle overhaul concerning her health. Adapting awhole foods/plant baseddiet; she began a daily practice that included drinking fresh green juices and smoothies. She discovered that she began to consistently receive increased energy, improved sleep, clear skin, and natural weight loss.
Passionate about her personal health discoveries, and seeking a new, aligned career path, she enrolled in the Internationally recognized training program at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, to become certified in health and lifestyle counseling. Kristin studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. The teachers included Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Dr. Walter Willett and Dr. Neal Barnard. After graduating in May of 2013, she founded her health coaching practice Fresh Start By the Sea,where she provides individual coaching, group coaching, and educational workshops.
In addition to her certification as a health and wellness coach, Kristin Brown holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Mount Olive College. She is a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP), the International Association of Health Coaches, and The Health Coach Group. She is a dedicated member of the Wrightsville Beach Sea Turtle Project and she stays active by running, swimming, and walking her dog Benji. Andrea Hood is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and co-founder of Wildly Vibrant Living. Andrea is a passionate foodie and localvore who loves playing in the kitchen and whipping up delicious, healthy meals. After years of struggling with depression, anxiety, and body issues, Andrea healed herself using holistic methods and sees it as her mission to help women do the same.
To share her love for food and healthy living, she began her food blog in 2011 and attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where she became a Certified Holistic Health Coach in 2013. She now runs online nutrition programs for busy women on the go, and writes for online publications like MindBodyGreen. Andrea relocated to the Wilmington area from New Hampshire in the summer of 2014 with her husband and two Shih Tzus (who she calls her fur babies). She loves green juice, yoga, history, spending time in nature – especially beautiful Wrightsville Beach – and is a bit of a social media addict.
